Thanksgiving in US

Thanksgiving is a national holiday in U.S. on the fourth Thursday of November; it is the biggest holiday beside Christmas for U.S. family. On Thanksgiving day, family members will get together and have a big fest, very much like our Chinese New Year dinner. Beside gathering and having tons of food, the most popular activity in Thanksgiving is -- Shopping!

I don't have any family member here in U.S., so I don't need to cook a big turkey to feed the entire family. Instead, I made a small grilled chicken with stuffing that will be enough for me and Carrie for the Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving is one of the biggest discount sales times of a year. Most stores will open early and people will line up in front of the door for the limited items. Usually, Thanksgiving is the time snow starts to fall, but luckily there is no snow on the ground so far.

How is your Thanksgiving weekend?

Happy Thanksgiving

I though you already know since we had our Thanksgiving together :) Anyway, we should cook just the wing and leg instead of a whole chicken next time.

Every year at Thanksgiving time I reflect on what I am thankful for having. My wife and I have our health, we are not on any medications, like so many of my friends, our kids are healthly and do great in school, we are both employed and we have a roof over our head. I have friends and family that care about me, what else could I ask for in this time of terror and uncertainity.
